The main beach of Puerto Morelos is called Ventana al Mar, there you will find El Faro Inclinado, which is a landmark of the town. In September 1967, the powerful hurricane “Beulah” tilted the only lighthouse in the port, which is currently a symbol of the identity of the place and represents the strength of the population because this lighthouse remains despite the fact that several hurricanes have passed through it.
When you are in town, be sure to visit the Puerto Morelos Reef National Park, which is part of the Mesoamerican Reef. The second longest barrier reef in the world and runs through almost the entire Mexican Caribbean. The part of the reef that passes through Puerto Morelos stands out for being the one closest to the coast, since it is only 400 meters away! So i’ts definitely a great spot to immerse yourself and observe the colorful coral formations and its abundant marine life while snorkeling or diving.

The Parroquia San José Obrero is the typical mexican church in front of the main park, except that across the park you’ll have views of the turquoise caribbean waters.
